Godswill Akpabio is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who has served in various high-level positions in the Nigerian government. He is currently the 15th president of the Nigerian Senate.

However, Akpabio was born on December 9, 1962, in Ukana, Ikot Ntuen, Akwa Ibom State. He attended the Federal Government College, Port Harcourt, and then went on to study law at the University of Calabar. After graduating from law school, he worked as a teacher and then as a lawyer in Lagos.
